BEFORE- 2006

When we bought the house the backyard included: exposed rock walkways-Ouch!, extra small rock- which during weed wacking broke the glass on our french door, two cement pads in the back corners with water fountains- one fell over and broke within a week of us living there, huge palm trees in the back corners- added to Ben's extreme hate of palms, a round cement picnic table and bench- it was useful but we were so much happier when we finally got rid of it, no patio covering- which led to water damage inside our back doors.

Last year we started the project of adding a back porch and a extended driveway. (We know we would never be able to park two cars in our garage.)

AFTER- 2010
Ben and I were finishing up landscaping last Saturday and we both laughed about all the changes we made, wondering if it was worth buying this house. We love everything about where we live and our ward, but we will let the dust settle a little before answering that question.

Our little plants are coming up!

Thomas loves to go outside several times a day to look at our strawberry. He is so excited and can't wait until it is red enough to eat.

It looks great Amy! If you are going to be there forever, it was totally worth it. If not, it will still make your house more marketable. Plus, you can enjoy while you are there!
Your yard turned out beautiful!! I LOVE the pics of Thomas looking at the strawberries. So cute. The hard work pays off.
looks great! I'm jealous:)
Looks very nice! You guys should come do our backyard now. :) One thing to tell you about the strawberries... you might want to have some kind of covering, like a wire cage. I have stawberry plants, and I can't seem to be able to pick any because everytime they start to turn red, the birds eat them. I just bought something so that I can cage the strawberries in so the birds won't eat them.
Soooo,Soooo, sorry that I didn't make it to see your yard! It looks great from the pictures! I know that you and Ben have done a ton of work. Best part of Easter dinner was Wade running in..."Thomas is pulling out the plants in the garden....hurry Dad, run!" I think Thomas thought he was doing a little weeding!
I know I'm late in seeing seeing this, but it looks amazing! Great job! If you find yourself missing your project you can head over to my house - it just came with dirt!
