Jarom's swim team started at 6:30am. We did hear some complaining, but I think Jarom really had a great time with his friends and had a since of accomplishment waking up so early to swim all those laps. It also helped him pass off his merit badge at scout camp.
Evan was in swim team at 9:15am. I was worried- that is a long way across the pool for such a little kid- but he is quite the swimmer.
We had Jarom and Evan swim in two of the meets. It is a hot, sweaty, miserable experience to sit through the meets! It was one of those things that we decided would be worth it to give the kids experience in sportsmanship and was worth the two we went to. They both got ribbons for swimming. Although I was too worried about bringing things to keep cool, I didn't bring the camera. The longest we stayed at a meet was from 5pm to 9pm to see both boys swim. Evan being one of the youngest and first to swim, and Jarom was one of the last.
For Camille in synchronized swimming, she went at 9am- and thought it was so fun!! I was afraid that it wasn't as good of exercise as swim team, but you have to be strong to tread water for long periods of time and to keep your body on top of the water for all the moves. We went to all the synchro meets we were in town for. They were a little more entertaining meets, although still hot and sweaty. We got the experience of "knoxing" her hair back into a bun. Which is applying knox gelatin mixed with a little bit of water on her hair to make it stiff and not come undone in the water. I was doing it and thinking- this is crazy, but it worked. The last few weeks her trio performed a routine and received a second place ribbon in the championships.

Yeah it is way to hot! I know appreciate my parents for years of sitting in the hot summers watching swim meets and softball games.
You've been a busy blogger! It was fun to catch up on what you guys have been up to. Sounds like your kids did a great job swimming. Your garden looks awesome! Very impressive.
